Transport Fever is a modern take on classical Transport Tycoon, this time without a grid, you can build streets and tracks basically any way you want. The goal is the same, build your logistical empire by linking together cities and industries. You can choose the era in which you will start your business, and the approach you want to take - there are road vehicles, trains and trams, airplanes and ships to choose from.
Of course, each type of transport requires a different infrastructure, so to plan the route you also have to take under the consideration the costs of building the roads, tracks or airfields. The cities produce the passengers, while the industries can produce raw materials or convert them into the products. Within a given budget you have to find a way to make your company profitable, which could require some planning and calculations.
While the game looks nice, it gives you the basic option to look from the point of view of your vehicles, there are some options missing from the project. The options regarding the infrastructure are quite limited, sometimes the industries will not produce what you expect them from the raw material (without any visible explanation), also you can build tram lines outside or between the cities, which makes the trains too expensive to buy and upkeep in comparison.
Overall, it is a very basic modern take on the classic, few years later it was improved in the sequel, Transport Fever 2, which had a much better interface and more options to manage your company. However, both the games are lacking the details that were present in the older games and once you start making decent money, the game becomes pointless.
